“External Film Inspiration“ is a serial of short films, trailers, motion graphics and music clips by different artists from across the world introduced here at Cromoart. We would like to inspire you give ideas and suggestions. This time with films by monologue, Susi Sie, Cokau, Homeland Estudio, Ron Gervais, Inspired by Life and Misha Shyukin.
It’s always a good day at the office when your job is to create something for someone, that’s entirely yours in concept, design, and execution. For this year’s Greek Design and Illustration Awards (EBGE), we volunteered to produce the intro video for the Promotion category, which includes awards for Best Poster, Best Print Ad, Best Invitation, Best Cultural Event Program and Best Flyer (shown in this exact order in the video). We never really experimented with abstract design in the past, at least not as much as we’d like to, so we figured this would be a good opportunity to do so. After a lot (and we mean, a lot) of playing around with shapes, materials, -our patience- and the overall look of the video, we came up with something that’s loosely described as a series of breathing, conceptual projections of each award in its most primitive form, sometimes more abstract, sometimes more literal, but hardly ever random.

BLACK focuses on our fear of the uncontrollable,
which goes hand in hand with our fascination of the unfamiliar.

“¿Puede alguien imaginar algo en las artes que superara la representación visible del sonido, algo que permitiera a los ojos participar de todos los placeres que la música ofrece a los oídos?”

“Can anyone imagine anything in the arts that would surpass the visible rendering of sound, which would enable the eyes to partake of all the pleasures which music gives to the ears?”

Self-initiated PSA for Japanese Relief Aid.
On March 11th, a magnitude 8.9 earthquake and subsequent tsunami and nuclear reactor leaks left Japan devastated. While much has been done to give relief and help to the people of Japan the real work is just beginning. Sometimes we forget that just because an event like this isn’t on the front page anymore, the struggle to save and rebuilt lives has passed. IAMSTATIC wanted to create something that can act as a reminder that this disaster is still happening and not a memory.
Please continue to help by giving to charity of your choosing.
