“External Film Inspiration“ is a serial of short films, trailers, motion graphics and music clips by different artists from across the world introduced here at Cromoart. We would like to inspire you give ideas and suggestions. This time with films by Resonance, Rza Asgerov, Oliver Latta, fedelpeye, CypherAudio, Salomon and Euan Preston.

The Flow looks at the supervening layers of reality that we can observe, from quarks to nucleons to atoms and beyond. The deeper we go into the foundations of reality the more it loses its form, eventually becoming a pure mathematical conception. Layer upon layer the flow builds new codes that create new codes, each version computing a new, more complex state based on the previous one.

This animation is an exercise to explore whit 3D and typography. We used a 3d model of this beautiful building (made by Andrea Stinga), and make a simple animation showing how structure is assembled. I decided to make all the renders really white and clean, because I wanted to get close to an infographic style.
In the second stage of the project, I decided to tell a few things about this building, for this reasons I design some compositions with two of my favorite fonts: Gotham for the text, and Avant Garde for the numbers. I choose these fonts especially by the shape of the letter O and de number 0 (zero), because is close to de shape of the planets, the reason why of this building.
It was 10 days of renders, animation, design and composition
It was made in Cinema 4D, and all the post in After Effects.

Better than sleeping pills. Shot on a Canon EOS 7D DSLR on the bleak moors of County Durham.
Camera was set flat, sharpening, contrast and sat all down, HTP off and then a hefty grade applied in FCP.
